It's getting easier and easier to get the data you need to ensure
your district is not contributing to the school to prison pipeline. Once
upon a time, community organizations had to do original research to
make the case that their schools were pushing students of color out of
school at much higher rates than white students. Now the Center for Civil Rights Remedies (CCRR), a project of UCLA's Civil Right Project has made it quick and easy to get the data you
need to advocate for fair and meaningful discipline policies.
The CCRR has released a web tool that allows users to see suspension data at a school and district level. It also allows users to see this information in relation to race/ethnicity, gender, and/or disability, at the elementary and secondary levels. Check it out!
